Hi Everyone! It’s time for another FANTASTIC RetroSketches Challenge! We’re using one of Arielle’s cards as the inspiration for this week’s sketch. Last week we had so many spectacular submissions it was such a treat to see them all. For this card I decided to use one of Arielle’s illustrations called, Pretty Peas Seed Packet. The first ever Retrosketches challenge was a success and so much FUN! I absolutely LOVED seeing everyone’s creations! We had 41 fantastic submissions and each one had its own special quality that I admired. Congrats to Arielle for putting the whole venture together—she’s quite the dynamo!
On to the next challenge! The sketch we are using this week is from Kasia. This sketch is so full of possibilities you can dress it up or keep it simple, whatever suites your style. I decided to use a digital image from the Wax Fruit Company called Birdhouse Row illustrated by Arielle. I kept my design simple so that the color of the birdhouses would be the focus. As you can see I turned the sketch on its side to accommodate the orientation of the birdhouses. I hope you’ll join us this week at Retrosketches!
