Joy

Published on December 9, 2012, by

I’m back to making one layer Christmas cards that are suited for easy mailing. This card was a lot of fun and quick and easy to create. I placed a mask of the tree on my card front and then stamped the background. I removed the mask and then stamped the tree. Then I placed a coordinating piece of washi tape onto the card. (By the way, I’m new to washi tape and I LOVE this stuff!!!) Then I ran the card through my Cuttlebug with a border embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment last. Are you making your holiday cards this year?

Winter Wonderland

Published on December 7, 2012, by

Happy Friday everyone!!! I have another tag for you but this one can also be a card or an ornament. I used a cutting file from the Silhouette Online store called Circle Winter Frame. I cut out another circle for the background in white and then inked it with distress ink. I embossed the sentiment before I inked the background. The sentiment is from an older set from Close to My Heart called Winter Wonderland. Have a terrific weekend!

I’m submitting this tag into the ColourQ Challenge #166. I haven’t played in this challenge for a while and LOVED the wintery color palette!

Happy Holidays Version 2

Published on November 25, 2012, by

I decided to make a rustic version of the card I made yesterday. I’m challenging myself to create some on layer Christmas cards. If you’d like to join me in this challenge just scroll down to my last post or click HERE. What techniques do you like to use when you create one layer cards? For this card and yesterday’s I used masking.

I almost forgot to add this to the Just Us Girls Photo Inspiration challenge. I absolutely LOVE this photo!!!

Fall Back to 2009

Published on September 9, 2012, by

If you’re looking for my Cameo Spotlight card please scroll down to the previous post.

I was looking through the files on my computer for something to inspire a fall card and found this. It’s a card I made back in 2009! I remember how excited I was when I bought the Quickutz dies I used to make this card. Lifestyle Crafts still sells them. I adore the leaves die and the branches die. A wonderfully designed leaf and branch are so classic and never go out of style.

It’s fun to revisit some of these older supplies and breath new life into them. I’ll have to dig them out of the old shoe box and see what I can create.

Life is Tweet!

Just a quick post today to share a couple of cards. I got together with some friends over the weekend and here’s the result of our cardmaking session. I made the first one and my friend Lisa made the second one. She decided to try the Faux Letterpress technique for the first time. Don’t you just love how her card turned out? My other friend Becky was doing some organizing and working on a Shutterfly album. Can’t wait to see the album when it’s done! It was a fun and relaxing afternoon! Thanks Ladies!!! :)

I’m still thinking about Spring! Here’s another card with flowers using the Reflections and Debonair stamp sets by Paper Smooches. I couldn’t wait to use the gorgeous Fresh Tones color palette by Design Seeds as inspiration. Aren’t those stunning colors the epitome of Spring?

Love U

Published on February 14, 2012, by

I made this card specifically for The new Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: Chiclectic Challenge and the Simon Says: Love is in the Air Challenge. I really enjoy using inspiration photos to jump-start making a card! The wallpaper in the Tuesday Trigger photo is really bold and prominent while the teal headboard is soft and just an accent. I tried to reflect that in my card. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the LOVE U negative shape. Hope everyone is having a fantastic Valentine’s Day!

Pastel Birdhouses

Published on February 12, 2012, by

I challenged myself to use pastel colors, my least favorite color palette. I saw this photo on the Design Seeds website and I wanted to create birdhouses from scratch but the color palette is definitely out of my comfort zone. So here it is for better or worse! I’m entering this card into the Moxie Fab: Cool Tools Cutting & Trimming Challenge and the Moxie Fab: Cool Tools Punches Challenge. Almost forgot to submit this card to the Simon Says Stamp: Love is in the Air Challenge.
