The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #7

Published on November 3, 2012, by

I was so sad when my Design Team term ended at Paper Smooches. So, today is a happy day for me because I’m sharing a card I made using one of my favorite products, Kim’s sentiment stamps. I used Joyful Greetings for this card. I also used the 5 Christmas Icons cutting files from the Silhouette Online Store.

I hope you’ll join us this time at The Cameo Spotlight for a chance to win a fantastic $30 gift certificate from Paper Smooches! What I love best about Kim’s line of stamps are how easy the sentiments are to use with my Cameo cards. You won’t be disappointed by the brightly colored and FUN cards the Design Team has created for this challenge!!! Go take a peek and you’ll see what I mean!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #6

Published on October 19, 2012, by

Our challenge is all about Halloween this time! I had so much FUN making this card!!! I made this an interactive card with a hinged panel. When the recipient opens the panel a ghost will be there as a surprise. I used the Ghost, 3 Hinge Set and pumpkin from the Freebie Thankful Card cutting files from the Silhouette Online Store for this card. I created the word bubble myself. The Silhouette Online Store is having a SALE on their Halloween shapes until October 31. Perfect timing for this challenge, wouldn’t you say?

We have 3 surprises for this challenge!

1. A wonderful, sweet and talented blogging friend of mine, Jocelyn Olson is our Guest Designer!

2. We have a fantastic prize from gel-à-tins®!

3. We are now accepting the following paper craft projects for submission: Cards, Tags, Scrapbook Pages, Home Decor, Gift Boxes and Bags, Party Favors and ornaments.

Halloween projects are a blast to make, I hope you’ll create one of your own. Hop on over to The Cameo Spotlight and take a peek at what the other Designers created, IF YOU DARE! Muahahahahahaha!!!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #5

Published on October 6, 2012, by

You’ll have to go check out the winners of the last Cameo Spotlight challenge, the cards are outstanding!!! This time it’s a color challenge and we have a wonderful sponsor and Guest Designer. Avery Elle has donated a $15 gift certificate to the winner of challenge #5! The very talented Chrissy Larson is joining us as a Guest Designer. She’s played in every challenge since the beginning and her cards are so inspirational. I used the Button Tree file from the Silhouette Online Store for my card today. I loved that this tree had buttons instead of leaves, I think it’s a fun and different look!

I almost forgot to tell you what’s so special about Avery Elle! They offer FREE cutting files with their stamp sets!!! Now, how COOL is that! Hope you’ll join us in our color challenge for a chance to win this GREAT prize!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #3

Published on September 8, 2012, by

It seems like it was just yesterday when we had our very first TCS challenge! Now we’re on our third, already. We’ve decided to spice things up a bit by introducing a surprise guest designer and a new color challenge! We’ll now be alternating between theme and color challenges. So, if you haven’t played along with us yet and LOVE color challenges here’s your chance to join in all the FUN!

(additional neutral colors allowed are: black, white and kraft)

I used some adorable cutting files for my card today. The gecko and the words “hang loose” are by Lettering Delights. The embossed background is from the Peacocks and Leaves set from Sizzix.

I hope you’ll stop by The Cameo Spotlight to see who our surprise guest designer is!!! The design team has also created some fantastic samples for your inspiration!

We now have a Cameo Spotlight Facebook Group! We’d love for you to join us to chat about card making with the Silhouette Cameo.

I’m adding this card to the Movement challenge over at the Moxie Fab World. I’m really enjoying the fun challenges Cath has lined up for this month!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #2

What a terrific turn out we had at The Cameo Spotlight! So many wonderful cards it was a challenge in itself just to narrow the choices down. If you’d like to see who made it into the SPOTLIGHT hop on over to TCS after you’re done here. Our theme for this challenge is numbers. A very special boy had a birthday recently and this is what I created. A simple no frills brightly colored boy card.

You’ll have to go check out what the other designers created! The variety is AWESOME!!! Hopefully their creations will inspire you to create something of your own. We look forward to seeing your card or tag in the SPOTLIGHT!

The Sky is {Not} Falling!

Published on August 15, 2012, by

Today I’m sharing a card that I made using my 2 FAVORITE things! The Silhouette Cameo and Paper Smooches stamps!!! The card is a file I picked up at the Silhouette Online Store and it’s called Fold-over Tag/Card. I also used Alphadot, Sunny Side Up and Green Acres stamps sets. The card front is cut from a double-sided sheet of My Minds Eye paper from the Fine and Dandy Boy 6×6 paper pad.

Hey, because the “sky is not falling” yet, there’s still plenty of time to create a card or tag project with your Silhouette Cameo or SD and enter it into The Cameo Spotlight Challenge!

Hope to see you there!!!

I haven’t played in a Cas-ual Fridays challenge in a while so I thought that it was about time that I did! The theme this week is square cards. I’ve been making a lot of square cards lately. There’s just something about the shape that adds to the cuteness factor!

I’m also going to pop this card into the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. When I was creating it I used the color palette in the trigger photo to inspire me. I also think the ribbon in my card mimics the scarf she’s wearing.

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #1

Published on August 11, 2012, by

Our first Cameo Spotlight challenge is finally here! It’s been so much fun getting everything ready!!! The TCS Design Team created some AMAZING cards for the first challenge! We decided to go with a bright and happy summer theme. Below is my interpretation of this challenge’s theme. I used the Kaleidoscope and the flap Card Base #7 cutting files from the Silhouette Online Store to make my card. I typed the words, “FUN IN THE SUN” and placed them on the path of the circle. Then I subtracted the letter shapes so that they would be cut out in the negative.

Come on over to The Cameo Spotlight to see the fantastic projects the other Designers have created for you today! We’d LOVE to see your summer cards too!!! This is a 2 week challenge so there’s plenty of time to play along. Stop by The Cameo Spotlight to check out the details.

The Cameo Spotlight DT Announcement

Published on August 1, 2012, by

It seems like an eternity since I announced the creation of The Cameo Spotlight! Now I can finally introduce the brand new Cameo Spotlight Design Team!!! First, I want to celebrate with a Silhouette Cameo card I made for this occasion. I cut out the word, “FEEL” and then embossed each letter with a different embossing folder. This way the recipient can actually feel the texture of the word “FEEL”. I also typed and cut out the word “better” and welded it together in the Studio software program. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I know it doesn’t seem like a celebration themed card but in a way, it is. I’ve been “FEELing” so many butterflies in my stomach lately that creating this card was a therapeutic way to distract me from my nervous excitement.

You’ll have to hop on over to The Cameo Spotlight challenge blog to meet the FANTASTIC new Design Team! While your there please leave a comment introducing yourself and say hi to the the Design Team. We’d LOVE to hear from you. See you there!!!

Click HERE if you’d like to take a peek at some of the Silhouette Cameo cards I’ve made.
