So Happy for You

Published on June 30, 2012, by

I’ve been wanting to participate in the new Dynamic Duos challenge that the super sweet and very talented Lesley Croghan created recently. It’s now on challenge #9 and I finally got around to making a card for it. I love the idea of only using 2 colors and a neutral. I used my Hero Arts Clouds stamp for the background and the sentiment is from the All Occasions Messages set also by Hero Arts. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

(I’m also popping this one into the Moxie Fab Gingham Challenge.)

RetroSketches #16

Published on June 16, 2012, by

This past week was a bit of a challenge for me because my creative energies mysteriously vanished. I’m hoping they will return soon. Anyhooo, I have another RetroSketche’s card to share with you today. Our guest this month is the very talented N@! Click HERE to see the AWESOME card that this week’s sketch is based on. Nat’s card was so unique and wonderful with its bold colors and fun shapes I had a hard time deciding on how I would approach this sketch at first. After much playing around with shapes and colors I decided to take a CAS direction and ended up with this card.

You’ll have to check out what the other ladies over at RetroSketches created because they are all so different. I think that’s what I ended up loving about this sketch, it forced us to really think outside of the box. I really am EXCITED to see what the participants will come up with this week! :) Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Glad you stopped by!!! :)

The Craft’s Meow May Blog Hop Day 5 of 5

Published on May 21, 2012, by

Today is The Craft’s Meow Blog Hop! As promised, I have another card using the Typically Teen stamp set. (Typically Teen is May’s Gift with a $50 purchase from The Craft’s Meow.) Yesterday’s Typically Teen card I designed for a young man and today’s card I designed for a young woman. I really enjoyed using fun girlish colors. I added Stickles and gems to bling it up and make it more festive! Before I started stamping I masked off a diagonal strip in order to give the bold sentiment a crisp clean background. I scored on the top and bottom of the strip to give the white space more definition. Did I already say how much I LOVE this stamp set yesterday? Well—I’ll say it again—I LOVE THIS STAMP SET! :)

All of the FANTASTIC stamp sets that have been previewed these past 5 days are now available for purchase HERE. The illustrators really have created some very cool and beautiful stamps this month!!! I enjoyed using each and every one of them!

Please visit the other Design Team members to see the fantastic creations they have come up with for today! HAPPY HOPPING!!!

Do you want a chance to win all 6 new sets from TCM?
To be eligible, you will need to visit and comment on each blog on the hop.

You Are Spec(s)tacular

Published on May 7, 2012, by

I haven’t played any of the Moxie Fab Challenges lately and then I saw this one about Spectacles. The first inspiration photo really caught my eye—no pun intended, well, maybe just a little! ;) The colors in the image are so fun! The 2 white stars in the banner gave me the idea to use star patterned paper on my card. I added tiny star gems to give it a little sparkle! The title of the challenge gave me an idea to create a card that had a huge call-out burst. I played around with the word “Specs” and came up with the sentiment. The burst is a cutting file I picked up at the Silhouette Online Store. The sentiment is from the Chit Chat and Alphadot stamp sets by Paper Smooches. The glasses are from the Get Outta Town set also by Paper Smooches. Have a SPECTACULAR night! :)
