Published on November 8, 2012, by

Hi everyone! Are you ready for another CAS(E) this Sketch? Before we move onto the card I’d like to make an EXCITING announcement! We have expanded our Design Team by 3 today!!! I’m so thrilled to introduce you to the very talented Karolyn Loncon, Christina Heeren and Jen Wills. Please hop on over to CAS(E) this Sketch and say hi and welcome them to the challenge.

For my card today I used the very pretty Golden Days stamp set by The Craft’s Meow. I really loved the bold script of the sentiment in this set. I tried to stay true to the sketch except for making my card square. I hope you’ll join us for this quick and easy sketch!

PS Sparks Challenge: Picture Perfect September

Published on September 24, 2012, by

Well, I’m a bit late posting my Sparks card today. I decided to go with a wedding card for this challenge because of all the white in the inspiration photo. I used the Hubby and Wifey and Reflections stamp sets. I hope you’ll go take a peek at the other designer’s cards and play along with us this week!

Hope your summer was super sweet!

Published on August 14, 2012, by

A special post today to share a card I made for the readers of my blog. In my part of the world it’s nearing the end of summer now. I look forward to the cooler temperatures of the Fall season but will miss the more carefree and fun activities of summer. I drew this simple watermelon in Adobe Illustrator and then added the curved sentiment. I printed it out and colored it in with my Copic markers. Then I cut the oval shapes out with my Spellbinders dies. I think extremely CAS was the way to go with this very graphic image, what do you think?

UPDATE: This digital stamp is available to download HERE.

Thanks so much to everyone for stopping by my blog. I really enjoy reading your comments. When you do leave a comment, please don’t forget to submit your blog address, so I can visit you. I hope your summer was super sweet!

I’m submitting my little card into the Digi Haven’s Yummy in My Tummy challenge. How cute is that title!!! I couldn’t resist playing along! For those of you who love digi stamps there’s still time to join the challenge. So hop on over to Digi Haven to check out all the details!

New Digs Bird House

Published on July 8, 2012, by

Here’s the card and the free Silhouette Studio cutting file I promised. This file is part of a larger file I created that includes different versions of the bird house. I’ll be creating more cards with those and posting them in the near future. So check back often if you’de like to see the other versions!

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to present and offer my files. So bear with me while I go through the process of what works best and what doesn’t. For now, I will create a download link at the bottom of my posts and on my Free Silhouette Studio Cutting Files page.

The sentiment on my tag is from the Paper Smooches Vogue Abode stamp set.

Here’s the FREE Silhouette Studio file. Enjoy! :)

(If you use any of my files I would love to see what you create. If you post a project using my designs please mention where you picked up the file. Please also link back to my blog so that I can share my files with others.)

RetroSketches #19

Published on July 7, 2012, by

This week at RetroSketches it’s one of Kasia’s beautiful cards that our sketch is based on. You can see her bright and cheerful card HERE. I’ve decided to turn the sketch and use a vertical or portrait version of the design. I used the Hello Sunshine stamp and die sets from Papertrey Ink to create the rays of sunshine and the sentiment. I adore vellum so I placed a pale blue strip over the top of the chevron patterned paper to soften it. Then I cut 2 orange rays and a sun— tucking them behind the sentiment layer to add more dimension.

Come join us this week—we’d love to see your take on this week’s RetroSketch!

PS Sparks Challenge: Trend Watch

Published on July 2, 2012, by

I’m not on Team 1 of the Sparks Design Team but thought I would play along just for the fun of it. This week it’s Trend Watch and the theme is Food Fresh. I’m having a blast creating cards with the Sugar Rush stamp set—isn’t the cupcake adorable? I don’t know if you can see it but I used Liquid Glass on the icing of the cupcake. The houndstooth strip at the bottom is from the Debonair stamp set. You’ll have to go check out the fantastic cards Team 1 has created this week!

I’m submitting this little card into the CAS-ual Friday’s challenge this week. The task is to use 2 circles. There are some wonderful cards posted so far!

RetroSketches #18

Published on June 30, 2012, by

Happy Saturday everyone! I have another RetroSketch card to share with you today. This card is a remake of one I designed back in August of 2011. You can click HERE to take a peek at it. I just love the cool sketches Arielle creates using our cards from the past. I followed the sketch closely, with one exception—I left off the bow this time. Being I stamped a bow in the sentiment, I thought it redundant to then add a fabric or twine bow. The tags and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I used Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Ink on the tags to give them a soft dreamy quality. Hope you’ll join us this week—we’d love to see your take on this week’s RetroSketch!

RetroSketches #17

Published on June 23, 2012, by

Time for another RetroSketch card! This week’s sketch is based on THIS super fantastic card by our fearless leader Arielle. I really admire her coloring skills on her original card. The colors and arrangement of colors on the peacock are stunning! My card is on the simple side this time. I had a huge pile of scraps and shapes from last week’s RetroSketch card sitting on my table. They were just waiting to be made into a card—so I put them to good use. Please go take a peek at what Arielle, Laurie and Kasia have created. I’m always thrilled with what they come up with!

The Craft’s Meow June Preview Day 4 of 5

Published on June 20, 2012, by

I have 2 cards to share with you today for The Craft’s Meow preview. The first is a card using the very cool Summer Fun stamp set. (The Summer Fun set is June’s gift with a purchase of $50.) I wanted to create a card that had the look and feel of an invitation to a pool party. I used my Spellbinders Labels Fourteen dies to create the shape of a pool. The second card features the cute stamp set called Oh Deer. This set has a really adorable deer but I decided to show you how you could use the smaller accent stamps. The other designers have used the sweet little deer so please go check out their cards.

Click HERE to check out all the details and to see what the rest of the TCM Design Team has created! (If you leave a comment you will be eligible to win each stamp set featured in a day from TCM. If there are 2 sets in a day, there will be 2 winners! The deadline to leave those comments is 9:00pm PDT each day) Pop back by tomorrow for BLOG HOP!
