Snowman Family

Published on November 13, 2012, by

A quick little post today to share another Christmas card. This one has no stamping, I  just fussy cut the snowmen. I used the Merry paper pad by My Minds Eye. The patterns in this pad are so darn CUTE! The snow is torn pieces of tissue paper with a bit of Diamond Stickles on the edges. I designed this card with 2 challenges in mind. The CAS-ual Friday’s So Torn theme and RetroSketches #37. I turned the sketch so that the elements would work with my scene.

It’s fall in the United States so this card may seem a bit out of season. I just really need a vacation right now so that’s what was on my mind when I made this card! This sketch really had me scratching my head until I turned it and saw an umbrella. I used Get Outta Town, Vogue Abode, Hang Ups and Geo-Graphics  stamp sets by Paper Smooches for this card. Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

We’d LOVE to see what you can create with this sketch! Hop on over to the Sparks challenge blog and get all the details!!!

The Sky is {Not} Falling!

Published on August 15, 2012, by

Today I’m sharing a card that I made using my 2 FAVORITE things! The Silhouette Cameo and Paper Smooches stamps!!! The card is a file I picked up at the Silhouette Online Store and it’s called Fold-over Tag/Card. I also used Alphadot, Sunny Side Up and Green Acres stamps sets. The card front is cut from a double-sided sheet of My Minds Eye paper from the Fine and Dandy Boy 6×6 paper pad.

Hey, because the “sky is not falling” yet, there’s still plenty of time to create a card or tag project with your Silhouette Cameo or SD and enter it into The Cameo Spotlight Challenge!

Hope to see you there!!!

I haven’t played in a Cas-ual Fridays challenge in a while so I thought that it was about time that I did! The theme this week is square cards. I’ve been making a lot of square cards lately. There’s just something about the shape that adds to the cuteness factor!

I’m also going to pop this card into the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. When I was creating it I used the color palette in the trigger photo to inspire me. I also think the ribbon in my card mimics the scarf she’s wearing.

RetroSketches #22

Published on July 28, 2012, by

Sometimes along with the happy news there is sad. This is my last card for RetroSketches. It’s so difficult to do all the activities that I’d like to. Sometimes it just comes down to making really hard decisions. Deciding to move on to new experiences sometimes means letting go of the older ones. Being a part of Arielle Gordon’s RetroSketch Design Team has been so much fun! Kasia, Laurie and Arielle are extremely talented and super sweet! I’ll miss being on that wonderful team so much!!!

Enough sad talk, time for the card. The sketch is based on one of Arielle’s darling cards she made back in May of this year. You can click HERE to see her adorable little girl all decked out in pink. RetroSketches has the fantastic Alley Way Stamps as a sponsor this week! I used one of their super cute sets called Reel Time for my card today. I hope you’ll join us for my last week with RetroSketches.

The Craft’s Meow July Preview Day 3 of 5

Published on July 19, 2012, by

The stamp set I’m featuring today is called Love Dwells Here illustrated by Nina B. Designs. WOW this set is just packed with super adorable houses and sentiments! I wanted to make a simple card and was having a difficult time trying to decide which of the wonderful images to use. I just love how the little house is a square so I made my card square to mimic it. I wanted the heart on the house to really pop so I colored it red with Copic markers. You’ll have to go to The Craft’s Meow blog and check out what the other ladies have created with this fantastic stamp set!

I’m going to pop this into the Stamp It! Cards Week: The Thank You Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog.

Are you ready for another Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge? This week it’s all about the sketch. I LOVE this sketch!!! Anything with a curve just makes me a HAPPY girl! O.K.—you may not be able to tell but I went a little crazy with my Paper Smooches stamp sets. I used Boob Tubes, Hang Ups, He Said, She Said, Qwick Qwips and Vogue Abode on this tiny 4.25 x 4.25 card! What I adore most about Paper Smooches stamps is that they all work together beautifully.

We’d love for you to join us this week! Stop by the Sparks Blog to get all the details. Please don’t forget to go say hi to the other ladies on Team 2.

The Craft’s Meow June Preview Day 2 of 5

Published on June 18, 2012, by

Hi everyone it’s day 2 of The Craft’s Meow 5 days of previews. Today we are featuring 2 sweet stamp sets, one is called Stitched Flowers and the other is Stitched Sentiments. Both of these stamps sets are so adorable and whimsical with their dashed outlines. I decided to make a fairly simple card so the cute little flowers would stand out. I haven’t used the faux stitching technique in a long while. I thought that it would be a lovely addition to the stitched style of the flowers and sentiment.

Click HERE to check out all the details and to see what the rest of the TCM Design Team has created! (If you leave a comment you will be eligible to win each stamp set featured in a day from TCM. If there are 2 sets in a day, there will be 2 winners! The deadline to leave those comments is 9:00pm PDT each day) Pop back by tomorrow for another sneak peek!

RetroSketches #11

Published on May 12, 2012, by

It’s that time again! I had so much FUN using this sketch and some of my new Paper Smooches stamp sets!!! RetroSketches has a Guest Designer this week and her name is Tracey. The sketch is based on a super ADORABLE card she made back in September. Click here to see her original card. I adored the colors she used in her card so I  decided to use them in mine. My version follows the sketch closely except for when it came to placing a sentiment and ribbon in the same place. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Please take a moment to go check out the other DT’s cards. We hope you’ll join us this week for this really sweet sketch!
