The Craft’s Meow June Preview Day 2 of 5

Published on June 18, 2012, by

Hi everyone it’s day 2 of The Craft’s Meow 5 days of previews. Today we are featuring 2 sweet stamp sets, one is called Stitched Flowers and the other is Stitched Sentiments. Both of these stamps sets are so adorable and whimsical with their dashed outlines. I decided to make a fairly simple card so the cute little flowers would stand out. I haven’t used the faux stitching technique in a long while. I thought that it would be a lovely addition to the stitched style of the flowers and sentiment.

Click HERE to check out all the details and to see what the rest of the TCM Design Team has created! (If you leave a comment you will be eligible to win each stamp set featured in a day from TCM. If there are 2 sets in a day, there will be 2 winners! The deadline to leave those comments is 9:00pm PDT each day) Pop back by tomorrow for another sneak peek!

Faux Stitched Tree

Published on May 1, 2012, by

A quick little post today to share a card I made. No challenges—just playing around with some of my Silhouette Cameo images to see what I could come up with. I’ve really been admiring CAS cards a lot lately and have even been creating a few here and there. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a card with dimension and texture. I enjoy all styles and love to experiment with different looks. This card uses the Bushy Tree Faux Stitched cutting file from the Silhouette Online Store. The sentiment is from the Thinking of You Messages stamp set from Hero Arts.

A quick little post tonight to show you a bookmark card I made with the Lighten Up stamp set by There She Goes Clear Stamps. I just have to say I ADORE this stamp set, it’s so versatile. The bookmark is 3 x 6 folded and can easily slip over a page in a book. The ribbons will peek out to reveal the bookmark when the book is closed. I lit up the lamp with a piece of yellow vellum tucked under the lampshade.

I created a card with an image by a brand new artist that Whimsy Stamps has just added to their line of Digi Stamps. Isn’t she cute? She is funky with a little bit of an edge. My daughter challenged me to create a card with her. My inspiration came from the outrageously cool Harajuku Girls. I am entering her into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge HERE.

Vintage Dress Form Card

Published on July 23, 2011, by

I discovered that my plan to create cards with scraps on the weekend was too limiting.  I will make cards from my scraps from time to time but not just on the Saturday and Sunday. I had planned a card using some older paper I had from Close to My Heart and a bird image but the card did not want to cooperate with me. I altered it to incorporate an embossed dress form image instead. (I don’t list supplies on the weekends but will provide them for anyone that requests them either by email or in a comment.)

This card uses similar design elements as yesterday’s card. It has die cut shapes cut out of a popped up top panel. It also has elements that are recessed below the top panel yet it has a totally different look.

Watermelon Card

Published on July 10, 2011, by

Change of plans today I have decided not to create a card from scraps like I have on previous weekends. I am planning on creating cards with some new paper and stamps this coming week, so I will probably be more inspired by my scraps than I was this weekend. Summer is here and that means YUMMY watermelon!
