Published on October 8, 2012, by

It’s fall in the United States so this card may seem a bit out of season. I just really need a vacation right now so that’s what was on my mind when I made this card! This sketch really had me scratching my head until I turned it and saw an umbrella. I used Get Outta Town, Vogue Abode, Hang Ups and Geo-Graphics  stamp sets by Paper Smooches for this card. Thanks for stopping by!!! :)

We’d LOVE to see what you can create with this sketch! Hop on over to the Sparks challenge blog and get all the details!!!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #3

Published on September 8, 2012, by

It seems like it was just yesterday when we had our very first TCS challenge! Now we’re on our third, already. We’ve decided to spice things up a bit by introducing a surprise guest designer and a new color challenge! We’ll now be alternating between theme and color challenges. So, if you haven’t played along with us yet and LOVE color challenges here’s your chance to join in all the FUN!

(additional neutral colors allowed are: black, white and kraft)

I used some adorable cutting files for my card today. The gecko and the words “hang loose” are by Lettering Delights. The embossed background is from the Peacocks and Leaves set from Sizzix.

I hope you’ll stop by The Cameo Spotlight to see who our surprise guest designer is!!! The design team has also created some fantastic samples for your inspiration!

We now have a Cameo Spotlight Facebook Group! We’d love for you to join us to chat about card making with the Silhouette Cameo.

I’m adding this card to the Movement challenge over at the Moxie Fab World. I’m really enjoying the fun challenges Cath has lined up for this month!

Hope your summer was super sweet!

Published on August 14, 2012, by

A special post today to share a card I made for the readers of my blog. In my part of the world it’s nearing the end of summer now. I look forward to the cooler temperatures of the Fall season but will miss the more carefree and fun activities of summer. I drew this simple watermelon in Adobe Illustrator and then added the curved sentiment. I printed it out and colored it in with my Copic markers. Then I cut the oval shapes out with my Spellbinders dies. I think extremely CAS was the way to go with this very graphic image, what do you think?

UPDATE: This digital stamp is available to download HERE.

Thanks so much to everyone for stopping by my blog. I really enjoy reading your comments. When you do leave a comment, please don’t forget to submit your blog address, so I can visit you. I hope your summer was super sweet!

I’m submitting my little card into the Digi Haven’s Yummy in My Tummy challenge. How cute is that title!!! I couldn’t resist playing along! For those of you who love digi stamps there’s still time to join the challenge. So hop on over to Digi Haven to check out all the details!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #1

Published on August 11, 2012, by

Our first Cameo Spotlight challenge is finally here! It’s been so much fun getting everything ready!!! The TCS Design Team created some AMAZING cards for the first challenge! We decided to go with a bright and happy summer theme. Below is my interpretation of this challenge’s theme. I used the Kaleidoscope and the flap Card Base #7 cutting files from the Silhouette Online Store to make my card. I typed the words, “FUN IN THE SUN” and placed them on the path of the circle. Then I subtracted the letter shapes so that they would be cut out in the negative.

Come on over to The Cameo Spotlight to see the fantastic projects the other Designers have created for you today! We’d LOVE to see your summer cards too!!! This is a 2 week challenge so there’s plenty of time to play along. Stop by The Cameo Spotlight to check out the details.

The Craft’s Meow July Preview Day 4 of 5

Published on July 20, 2012, by

When I made this card it was so HOT outside I was melting. I could have used  the 3 glasses of whatever kind of COOL drink was inside my card! :)

I cut out a semi-circle of cork to give the appearance of a giant drink coaster. The adorable stamp set that provided the refreshing drinks is from the Summertime with Fibi and Lili by Mabelle R-O. This stamp set is your gift with a $50 purchase at The Craft’s Meow. I hope you’re enjoying The Craft’s Meow sneak peeks. Stop back by tomorrow for the blog hop!

RetroSketches #19

Published on July 7, 2012, by

This week at RetroSketches it’s one of Kasia’s beautiful cards that our sketch is based on. You can see her bright and cheerful card HERE. I’ve decided to turn the sketch and use a vertical or portrait version of the design. I used the Hello Sunshine stamp and die sets from Papertrey Ink to create the rays of sunshine and the sentiment. I adore vellum so I placed a pale blue strip over the top of the chevron patterned paper to soften it. Then I cut 2 orange rays and a sun— tucking them behind the sentiment layer to add more dimension.

Come join us this week—we’d love to see your take on this week’s RetroSketch!

You Make Life Sweet

Published on June 29, 2012, by

A quick little post today to share another card I made with my Silhouette Cameo. I picked up a few of the 4×6 card designs a while back so I could create greetings cards from them. This one is simply called 4×6 Card. Don’t these shapes make really fun cards? I was dying to use my new Sugar Rush stamp set by Paper Smooches as well. I thought that the card shape and the cute milk shake image went so well together! I’ll be back tomorrow with my RetroSketch card. Toodles!

sending you sunshine . . .

Published on June 26, 2012, by

I haven’t created a card with my Silhouette Cameo in a while so I grabbed an image in my library and made this. It’s one of the 4×6 Sunburst Life Cards from the Silhouette Online Store. I started out by sponging some Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink onto a piece of white card stock for the sun ray background. Then I spritzed water onto the ink so it would blend and have a subtle mottled look. Trimming the background left me with some extra pieces that I made into cute little banners. The sentiment is from the Everyday Sayings stamp set by Hero Arts.

The Craft’s Meow June Preview Day 4 of 5

Published on June 20, 2012, by

I have 2 cards to share with you today for The Craft’s Meow preview. The first is a card using the very cool Summer Fun stamp set. (The Summer Fun set is June’s gift with a purchase of $50.) I wanted to create a card that had the look and feel of an invitation to a pool party. I used my Spellbinders Labels Fourteen dies to create the shape of a pool. The second card features the cute stamp set called Oh Deer. This set has a really adorable deer but I decided to show you how you could use the smaller accent stamps. The other designers have used the sweet little deer so please go check out their cards.

Click HERE to check out all the details and to see what the rest of the TCM Design Team has created! (If you leave a comment you will be eligible to win each stamp set featured in a day from TCM. If there are 2 sets in a day, there will be 2 winners! The deadline to leave those comments is 9:00pm PDT each day) Pop back by tomorrow for BLOG HOP!
