Winter Wonderland

Published on December 7, 2012, by

Happy Friday everyone!!! I have another tag for you but this one can also be a card or an ornament. I used a cutting file from the Silhouette Online store called Circle Winter Frame. I cut out another circle for the background in white and then inked it with distress ink. I embossed the sentiment before I inked the background. The sentiment is from an older set from Close to My Heart called Winter Wonderland. Have a terrific weekend!

I’m submitting this tag into the ColourQ Challenge #166. I haven’t played in this challenge for a while and LOVED the wintery color palette!

December 25

Published on December 5, 2012, by

I had a request from a reader to post some Silhouette Cameo Christmas tags, so here’s one especially for her. I made this from one of the tags from the 3 Notebook Tags set and the tiny Christmas tree tag is from a set called Christmas Gift Tags Folded. I ended up cutting off the slits at the bottom of the large tag. I didn’t think they worked well with the design when I went to put it together. I used the Sizzix Birthday Set #3 embossing folder because it reminded me of snowflakes without being too literal. The numbers were cut out from a font called Univers I have on my computer. I hope to make some more Holiday tags soon, so please check back.

I’m popping this tag into the CAS-ual Fridays Gift Tag Challenge. There are some FANTASTIC gift tag ideas there, you’ll have to check them out! I’m also adding this to the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge #31, a perfect color combo for Christmas tags!

A Gift For You Tag

Published on November 29, 2012, by

This is my third post today. If you’re looking for my CAS(E) this Sketch card, please scroll down to the post below this one.

I made a few cards for the Hero Arts Bring on the Bling Contest and ended up with some great scraps. I decided to make use of them and create a Christmas tag. I added 3 strips of washi tape to the tag and then used a faux letterpress technique with white ink. I glittered the tree and then stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of vellum. I painted Glossy Accents under and over the piece of vellum to make it blend in with the tag. To give the tag a more consistent look I painted Glossy Accents on the rest of the tag. I think it gives the tag a frosty look.

I’m submitting this tag into the Hero Arts Bring on the Bling Contest. I used the following Hero Arts stamps to create this card: CL540 and CL343.

RetroSketches #18

Published on June 30, 2012, by

Happy Saturday everyone! I have another RetroSketch card to share with you today. This card is a remake of one I designed back in August of 2011. You can click HERE to take a peek at it. I just love the cool sketches Arielle creates using our cards from the past. I followed the sketch closely, with one exception—I left off the bow this time. Being I stamped a bow in the sentiment, I thought it redundant to then add a fabric or twine bow. The tags and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I used Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Ink on the tags to give them a soft dreamy quality. Hope you’ll join us this week—we’d love to see your take on this week’s RetroSketch!

Red Bird Tag Card

Published on March 10, 2012, by

Hi everyone—how’s your weekend going? I made a card using my Silhouette Cameo today. I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ tag, mirrored it to the left, then nudged it over a bit so that I could weld the 2 pieces, creating my card base. Then I cut out the top layer of the tag card from patterned cardstock. The bird and flourish branch shapes are from the Silhouette Online Store. The leaves are made from a Lifestyle Crafts die. The patterned paper is from Oh La La for Her and Lost and Found • Market Street by My Minds Eye.

Bird in a Circle

Published on February 19, 2012, by

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Just a quick post today to share a card I made for the Simon Says , , , , , , Tag It! challenge. The challenge is to create a tag by itself or place it on a card. The Design Team used some Tim Holtz products on their cards. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks on mine and I used the Hero Arts Bird in a Circle stamp for my tag. I was inspired by the beautiful Pink Blossoms color palette by Design Seeds. The middle photo is a close up of how I used my
X-acto knife to cut the side of the circle for some added dimension.

Snowman Christmas Tag

Published on November 12, 2011, by

Happy Saturday everyone! CAS-ual Fridays is having a Tag Your It Challenge this week. I thought that the No Peeking Stamp Set by There She Goes would work perfectly for this challenge. There are so many images in this stamp set it was hard to select which ones I wanted to use. I decided to go with a snowy Christmas theme for my tag. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Print Candee Snowflake Gift Tag

Published on September 25, 2011, by

Hi Everyone! I made a gift tag that can also be used as a Christmas ornament by the recipient. I used a clip art snowflake from Print Candee from their Winter Wonderland Digital Stamps. I loved the paint splattered paper that I created for yesterday’s card so much I wanted to incorporate it into my tag. These tags could be made up fairly quickly in time for the holidays! Hop on over to the Print Candee Digital Clip Art & Craft Store to see the great variety of images they have.

I’m also entering my gift tag into the Simon Says Stamps Bling Challenge over at the Lily Pad Cards Blog. I LOVE bling so I couldn’t resist joining this challenge!
