PS Sparks Challenge: Designer Drafts August

Published on August 13, 2012, by

Wow, have you ever had an idea in your head for a card and it just didn’t translate in reality? I spent over and hour on a card for this sketch and ended up trashing it and starting all over again! In my first card I tried a masking technique that was messy and very time-consuming, yet a lot of fun. I’m definitely going to try it again on another card in the future.

I decided to make the wonderful swooping angle in the sketch into rocket exhaust. I used my tried and true vellum paper to give it a transparent appearance. The adorable spaceship is from the Space Cadet stamp set by Paper Smooches. The stars and sentiment are also from this set. The embossing folder I used to create the look of an alien terrain is called Carnivale from the Retro Cirque set by Sizzix. So, now it’s your turn to go boldly over to the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge blog and submit your project!!! While your there, check out the fantastic creations that the other designers have created!
