I really have a difficult time creating one layer cards! I always want to add dimension. All those layers and embellishments don’t make it easy to mail. So I’m challenging myself to create one layer CHRISTMAS cards. If you’d like to join me in this ONE LAYER HOLIDAY CARD CHALLENGE please feel free to submit your card to the INLINKZ at the bottom of this post. I’d LOVE to see your cards and visit your blog or photo gallery.
HOW TO PLAY:
- Create a new one layer holiday card
- Create a text link back to my challenge post, so others can play along
- Add your card to the Inlinkz below
- You can submit as many cards as you wish!
HINT: When coloring with Copics I don’t like when the marker bleeds through to the inside of a one layer card. I just cut a top layer to stamp and color on and then adhere that to the card base. This way the recipient won’t see the bleed through on the inside of the card. I still consider this a one layer card.
I hope you’ll join me for this super QUICK and EASY challenge. Let’s see how many Holiday cards we can get done and in the mail!
The Inlinkz will close at 12 noon EST Sunday, December 2.

Soooooooooooooooo cute cute cute!!! I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the critters peeking out from the letters!! ADORABLE!!!!
Love such challenges. That is a real challenge not to put any dimension. Wanna try making one as well.
Love your card!
Supa fun OLC! Love your large sentiment and sweet little images, it’s perfect Jackie!
Oh how delightful and full of fun
This is absolutely adorable Jackie. I am making OLC Christmas cards this year too. Yours is too too cute!
Nice and cute card ! For me the problem is not making one layer card .I always made simple card and started making cards with layers, dimension fancy folds very recently.
I love this! You’ve managed to add so much depth – and on a single layer. That’s nuts
I am always a nearly-one-layer card maker – simply so stuff doesn’t show through the base card – but just for you I’ll give this a shot
Jessi, if I’m coloring with Copics I create a 4.25″ x 5.5″ blank top sheet of card stock to stamp on and then adhere that to my card base. I still consider it a one layer card because the stamping is only on one layer. This way the recipient won’t see the bleed through from the marker.
Thanks for the fun challenge Jackie! It was fun to play along. I always love your cards, and enjoy your blog so much!
Hi , I love your card and a great challenge xx
Wonderful masking on your one layer card! Love the little critters peeking out from the sentiment! Too cute, Jackie!
