Love

Published on January 2, 2013, by

Sometimes I cut out multiple pieces of a design I’ve created with my Silhouette Cameo. This way I can create different versions easily and quickly. The cutting file on this card is from yesterday’s card. Just scroll down to the post below to see how different it can look. I used my new distress ink colors to create a marbled background for the heart window.

Love U

Published on January 1, 2013, by

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I have a card to share with you today before I get my New Year’s Day dinner in the crock pot. Last night I tried to make a festive card for today but it just wouldn’t come together. So I put that aside and designed a Silhouette Cameo card instead. It’s really easy to quickly weld words to shapes in the Studio software. The font for the word “LOVE” is called Impact and the one for the “U” is called Wendy. I received the Charles Cuttlebug embossing folder for Christmas so I had to try it out on a piece of vellum. I think it looks very pretty on a Valentine’s Day card.

LOVE LIFE LIVE

Published on December 12, 2012, by

Yesterday I tried my hand at the chalkboard technique, today I created a trendy neon card. Over at the Moxie Fab World Cath is running a super cool Keen on Neon challenge. Neon is so bright and happy it was a lot of fun working with these colors! I created the negative and positive cuts with my Silhouette Cameo. The big bold blocky font is called Impact and the script is called Honey Script. Hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Winter Wonderland

Published on December 7, 2012, by

Happy Friday everyone!!! I have another tag for you but this one can also be a card or an ornament. I used a cutting file from the Silhouette Online store called Circle Winter Frame. I cut out another circle for the background in white and then inked it with distress ink. I embossed the sentiment before I inked the background. The sentiment is from an older set from Close to My Heart called Winter Wonderland. Have a terrific weekend!

I’m submitting this tag into the ColourQ Challenge #166. I haven’t played in this challenge for a while and LOVED the wintery color palette!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #8

Published on December 6, 2012, by

When I set out to make a card for CTS challenge #8, I ended up with 2 cards. I made both using my Silhouette Cameo. The other card was made by using the negative shape that cutting the numbers out created.  You can see what I mean by clicking HERE. The pretty font I used for the numbers is called Musica. The poinsettia is a cutting file from the Silhouette Online Store called Christmas Poinsettia.

Our sketch this week is so beautiful, it’s sure to stir up some card ideas for you. I hope you’ll drop by and take a peek at all of the wonderful cards the Design Team has created! We also have 3 important announcements that you’ll want to check out.

December 25

Published on December 5, 2012, by

I had a request from a reader to post some Silhouette Cameo Christmas tags, so here’s one especially for her. I made this from one of the tags from the 3 Notebook Tags set and the tiny Christmas tree tag is from a set called Christmas Gift Tags Folded. I ended up cutting off the slits at the bottom of the large tag. I didn’t think they worked well with the design when I went to put it together. I used the Sizzix Birthday Set #3 embossing folder because it reminded me of snowflakes without being too literal. The numbers were cut out from a font called Univers I have on my computer. I hope to make some more Holiday tags soon, so please check back.

I’m popping this tag into the CAS-ual Fridays Gift Tag Challenge. There are some FANTASTIC gift tag ideas there, you’ll have to check them out! I’m also adding this to the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge #31, a perfect color combo for Christmas tags!

Merry Christmas

Published on December 4, 2012, by

I was playing around with making a card for the next CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and ended up with 2 cards. This one is made from the negative cut from the card you’ll see on Thursday. I used the negative shape that was left over as a stencil and sponged the number 25 with it.

Warmest Wishes Cookie Jar

Published on November 26, 2012, by

I’ve been seeing lots of mason jars on cards lately, so I had to try one myself. I didn’t have a mason jar stamp but instead picked up a mason jar cutting file from the Silhouette Online  Store. This one is called 3 Mason Jars. I made a copy of the jar and then duplicated it and welded it together to create the card base. The cute little gingerbread man is from a Studio g stamp set. The sentiment is from CL343 by Hero Arts. This card was so much fun to make. I’m going to create more and fill them with different kinds of treats. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #6

Published on November 15, 2012, by

I loved this sketch because it conjured up ideas of using large bold images. I have some more card ideas for this sketch, so I’m sure I’ll revisit it at a later date. For now, Christmas is right around the corner so I decided I’d better get some christmas cards made. I used the Christmas Tree Set and 1 of the 4 Decorative Frames from the Silhouette Online Store for this card. I hope you’ll play along with us for this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch!

In the US we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 22. So, we won’t be having a new challenge on that day but will instead leave this one open an extra week. To find out all the details hop on over to the CAS(E) this Sketch blog!

The Cameo Spotlight Challenge #7

Published on November 3, 2012, by

I was so sad when my Design Team term ended at Paper Smooches. So, today is a happy day for me because I’m sharing a card I made using one of my favorite products, Kim’s sentiment stamps. I used Joyful Greetings for this card. I also used the 5 Christmas Icons cutting files from the Silhouette Online Store.

I hope you’ll join us this time at The Cameo Spotlight for a chance to win a fantastic $30 gift certificate from Paper Smooches! What I love best about Kim’s line of stamps are how easy the sentiments are to use with my Cameo cards. You won’t be disappointed by the brightly colored and FUN cards the Design Team has created for this challenge!!! Go take a peek and you’ll see what I mean!
